Daycare Center

Benchmark partnered with U-Gro Learning Centre’s to provide another safe, innovative daycare center and give even more families in Lancaster County the option for excellent childcare. The new 15,000 SF daycare center features 10 classrooms, a resource center with an indoor playground, and an open space for children to learn and play. It also includes a laundry room, a storage room, an administrative office, a staff room, a warming kitchen, electrical and mechanical rooms, and restrooms.

One of the more beautiful aspects of this design was its large aluminum and glass entrance into the building as well as a glass storefront for each classroom, which allows natural light to flow through the building.

Beyond the impacts of COVID and the state’s shutdown, the project faced minor scheduling obstacles. In the end, our team worked with our trade partners and were able to make up for lost time and turned the building over to the owner two weeks ahead of schedule.
