Heart and Vascular Institute Fit-Out

Part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute is one of the world’s premier centers for comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Benchmark was contracted to construct a new home for the Institute to house various specialty areas — adult diagnostic cardiology, pediatric diagnostic cardiology, physical therapy, a research and staff support area, a pediatric and EP clinic, a vascular and cardiac surgery clinic, and an adult clinic, all under one roof.
The project encompassed 40,000 SF out of the 50,000 SF on the second floor. Our team was given four months to complete the rebuild, with the first month spent demolishing the existing call center that the Institute replaced.

Extending the deadline wasn’t an option, as the Institute’s current off-site lease was expiring. This tight timeframe demanded that our team develop unique methods to ensure work was completed on schedule.
